Much of my writings were products of the nineteen ninety’s, where I lived in a magical place and spent many hours in a rocking chair on my front porch. There were cats and clouds and drunks and dogs and a wide variety of unique persons who crossed my path, all combined to enhance the allure of Lower Greenville Avenue. In short, I was relaxed and inspired by the abundance of visual and aural experiences. At times it seemed that my pen put words to paper without any effort. I was able to express thoughts that had eluded all previous attempts. Some of the poems are whimsical, almost nonsensical, others are serious expressions of my life up to that time, and still others represent events that unfolded before and around me. A few have found their way into my original music which was to follow a decade later. Should you find a poem here that moves you or inspires you, please feel free to leave a comment – it will be appreciated.
